Welcome to DSB Internet Marketing. My name is David Brooks and I want to personally thank you for stopping by to check out my website. I realize that for many, search engine optimization and marketing is a little confusing, if not downright confounding. It is an ill-defined and often misunderstood marketing medium. Part of my job is simply communicating how it all works and why. For, I believe, if you fully understood the potential of an effective website and well-planned and executed Internet marketing strategy, you'd be as enthusiastic as I am!

I have over 7 years of direct Internet Marketing experience. A fair amount in such a new field!  I specialize in search engine optimization, keyword and market research, link building, copywriting, website design and user interface consultation and pay-per-click set-up and management. I am currently a board member of the HTMA (High Tech Marketing Alliance) based in San Diego as well as a proud technology volunteer for Darkness to Light, a grassroots organization dedicated to the prevention of child sexual abuse. I have served many happy clients, both domestic and international, to achieve their web marketing goals.

My background is in advertising and marketing. I started my career in point-of-purchase advertising, selling large printed vinyl & paper banners to the movie studios for their video release marketing. I worked with Disney, Warner Brothers and Paramount Pictures, to name a few. Later, I represented a large industrial directory offering both print and online advertising. Over the years, I witnessed the evolution from traditional print advertising to online marketing and I evolved along with it. The Internet has ushered in a whole new paradigm of marketing!

The truth is there is no formalized way of becoming a SEO professional. For the most part, you can’t learn it at school. You must learn this trade by doing: experimenting, investigating, communicating with other SEO professionals, reading online newsletters, blogs and whatever books there are on the subject. My philosophy is rooted in developing a sound marketing strategy based on your objectives, creating a high-quality site for your intended visitors, comprehensive keyword and market research, well-written copy and maybe a well-executed pay-per-click campaign. I take the long term approach to Internet Marketing. I don’t go for short-term and short-lived spikes in ranking but instead, I try to strike a balance between making your site the best it can be for your customers and the search engines.
